SAINT HEDWIG’S FAIR
St. Hedwig’s Fair is an outdoor event with a character of a medieval fair. It has been organized for over 10 years and is devoted to St. Hedwig who spent a few years of her life in the Leśnica Castle. The fair is organized on the castle’s terraces (the stalls of medieval craftsmen like weavers, coopers, bee-keepers, goldsmiths), in the landscape park surrounding the castle (competitions, contests, orders of knights’ presentations), the castle’s amphitheatre (artistic shows) and the interiors of the Cultural Centre “ZAMEK” (presentations, exhibitions). The audience always actively takes part in the event, participating in the competitions, medieval celebrations and crafts presentations. We also show theatrical plays and concerts of medieval music. A very special place makes the fair a unique opportunity for a time journey, back to the times of chivalry. Saint Hedwig’s Fair annually hosts around 2500-3500 visitors.
